Loading ...President of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Mircea Geoana accused on Thursday the head of the state that by the nomination of Lucian Croitoru as prime minister he resorts to political and constitutional blackmail, whose real purpose is the maintenance of the government until the presidential elections in order to influence their result.
Geoana said that said he voiced a common stand of the parliamentary majority of the PSD+PC Alliance (PSD and the Conservative Party), National Liberal Party (PNL), Hungarian Democratic Union of Romanian (UDMR) and national minorities, who consider that Basescu continues and deepens the crisis the country is undergoing deliberately proposing a candidate about whom he knows the Parliament does not support.
