The head of the state Traian Basescu on Thursday signed the decree designating Lucian Croitoru Prime Minister.
The President specified in a statement given at the Cotroceni Palace his decision took into account the common desideratum the future Premier not to be a member of any political party.
Traian Basescu stressed that the designated Prime Minister needs now to have political support. ‘My option for Croitoru was the result of the fact that we needed a Premier to know how to deal with macroeconomic issues on both the national and the international level,’ Traian Basescu explained.
