At the start of consultations on Tuesday evening with the Democratic-Liberal Party (PD-L) at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace, President Traian Basescu said he does not feel inclined to tergiversating amidst the general state that ensued the passage of a motion of censure against the Government.
‘Personally, I do not feel inclined to procrastinating the talks; we need rapid action, a responsible political decision-making and for things to move on. This is my point of view,’ the President said. He thanked Emil Boc and his ministerial team for what they did for Romania’s progress during their tenure, mentioning to the point the pension law and the restructuring of the state apparatus.
The President also mentioned that the most important achievements of the Boc Cabinet are linked to the Criminal Code and the Commercial Code.
In his turn, PD-L chief Emil Boc said PD-L is still interested in the continuation of state structural reform and in Romania meeting its domestic and international commitments in a context of political stability.
Representing the Democratic-Liberal Party at the talks were Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Roberta Anastase, party chief Emil Boc, as well as Elena Udrea, Adriean Videanu, Vasile Blaga, Gheorghe Pogea, Radu Berceanu, Gheorghe Flutur, Cezar Preda and Ioan Oltean.
