This is part of a larger context of normalizing relations with the Republic of Moldova, following the democratic moves made by Chisinau.
“We hope that the negotiations result is a positive and fast one. We are aware of the need of making concrete steps in our bilateral agenda, to confirm both sides’ best intentions”, Interim ForMin Catalin Predoiu told the press.
The Romanian ForMin reconfirmed on this occasion, as well the continuation of a policy of backing Chisinau”s European agenda.
In this context, Romanian MAE notes with satisfaction the prospect of negotiations between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova for the conclusion of a new legal cooperation framework, wishing it to attain a deepened and a more encompassing level.
The Interim ForMin Catalin Predoiu had a telephone conversation recently with his Moldovan counterpart Iurie Leaca, and the two officials are going to establish the place and date of their meeting. In the context of the political crisis in Bucharest the two ministers’ meeting remains to be announced.
The small cross-border traffic allows people living on an area of 50 km. around the border to circulate freely, without needing a visa.
