“Ballot papers need, as estimated on Oct. 16, by the Central Electoral Bureau, is of 21,963,409, and the final number is going to be announced by the bureau when the candidate registrations will be final”, said Blaga.
He pointed out that the number of the ballot papers to be issued is computed according to the number of registered electors on the permanent electoral lists, respectively 18,347,397 plus an added 10 percent, respectively 1,834,749. To this an extra number will be added, destined to the polling stations abroad, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) – 600,000 as well as the estimated number of the ballot papers needed for the special polling stations – 1,181,271.
Blaga informed as well that a number of 21,207 polling stations are organized on the Romanian territory for the Nov. 22 elections, of which 21,413 interior polling stations, numbered through a prefect’s order. Of them, 18,053 are delimited by the mayor and 3,360 are special polling stations established on a Government’s decision, to which 294 polling stations abroad will be added, delimited by MAE.
The Ministry of Administration and Interior announced that the public acquisition procedure was launched for the printing of the voting stickers. He pointed out that a need of 18,162,757 voting stickers was established based on the number of electors with identity cards, upped by 10 percent.
