CGC asks president Basescu, the heads of the political parties, the candidates to the Presidency, the Constitutional Court and all those who have the authority and means to take action in order to prevent any form of radical political act, such as the dissolving of Parliament,” informs the release.
The document is signed, in the name of the Coalition, by the non-governmental organizations Freedom House, the Group for Social Dialogue, Timisoara Society, the Academic Society of Romania and the Academy of Advocacy.
The signatories show concern as regards the declared intention of the presidents in office to dissolve Parliament, a declaration that was withdrawn, after it had been, nevertheless publicly defended by some of its advisers.
Also, CGC requires the prevention of any form of tempering the will of the voters, by organizational, legal modifications or of other kind as regards the proper vote. The Coalition asks the Standing Electoral Authority, the political parties and all the electoral organization such as the Prosecutor’s Office, to elect a committee for the supervision of these elections.
The Coalition for a Cleaning Governing encourages the voters not to vote those who openly propose to control bodies such as the prosecutor’s office or the Constitutional Court.
The signatories also ask for the prevention of the political migration , which they call “immoral and illegal, a form of political corruption”.
