‘Romania is determined to ensure the upward trend of the relations between Romania and China. The signing tomorrow (Tuesday) at Victoria Palace of two commercial and economic documents on agriculture and small and medium-sized enterprises are a proof in this respect,’ said the Romanian premier.
Boc said that by July 30, 2009, the value of Chinese investments on the Romanian market totalled 330 million dollars, placing the Asian state on the 17th place in the ranking of countries which made businesses with Romania.
‘As many as 9,500 Chinese companies were reported in Romania on March 9, 2009 whereas in the segment of commercial exchanges with China, Romania holds the fourth place with 1,700 million dollars,’ said the official.
Emil Boc said it is important for Romania and China to establish a way of dialogue on the relations with the European Union.
The Romanian PM tackled also the future participation of Romania in EXPO 2010 in Shanghai.
Romania prepares for the EXPO 2010 in Shanghai, which is a good opportunity for the strengthening of cultural, commercial, educational and tourist exchanges, said Boc. The Romanian premier also voiced hope the Chinese companies would be present in TIBCO and TIB fairs organised in Bucharest.
Immediately after the introductory speeches delivered at the forum, a range of economic and commercial contracts totally worth 70 million dollars were signed.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Romania on Monday organised in Bucharest the Romanian Chinese Economic and Commercial Forum.
According to CCIR, the event will be followed by a session of bilateral business meetings between the representatives of the Romanian and Chinese companies, organised at the Parliament Palace on the occasion of the official visit that vice-president of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, will pay to Romania.
The forum is organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Trade and Business Environment of Romania and the Chinese Trade Ministry.
