As such, the Premier designate will conduct consultations with leaders of the Social Democratic Party and the Conservative Party, the Democrat Liberal Party (PD-L), the National Liberal Party (PNL), the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) and the parliamentary group of the national minorities.
Mircea Geoana stated on Saturday that, given the fact that Premier designate Lucian Croitoru is exclusively PD-L choice, the dialogue and consultations have no sense. “I further encourage all my colleagues in this formed majority to keep on our joint action coherence and homogeneity”, underlined Mircea Geoana, referring to the PSD+PC, PNL, UDMR and parliamentary group of national minorities’ decision to propose the Mayor of Sibiu, Klaus Johannis, as Premier, an option rejected by President Traian Basescu.
UDMR leader Marko Bela said he was going to take part in the said consultations, but stressed he has no negotiation mandate for the forming of a government headed by Lucian Croitoru, just being mandated for a dialogue with the PM designate, who is a respectable personality. “I want to assess what is his vision”, said Marko Bela.
