‘I would say he has 50 percent chances because I believe there are some MPs who understand the national interest not only the interest pertaining to the political battle for the presidential elections,’ said president Basescu.
He said that he did not believe in the story of paid or contracted MPs stressing that the reasons for which a politician leaves a party is rather related to the feeling he was not enough capitalised.
Basescu said he did not take a decision regarding the solution he would choose if the Croitoru Government were not supported by Parliament, but he said that one of the variants is his new nomination.
‘An alternative is the designation of a premier from the party with the biggest number of MPs , implicitly from the Democrat Liberal Party (PD-L), another alternative is to leave the mission of designation of a new premier until after the presidential elections and the validation of the new president, namely after December 21 and finally the variant to appoint Mr. Lucian Croitoru for the second time, if he accepted,’ said Train Basescu. Basescu stressed that the alternatives depend on the talks with the International Monetary Fund.
