“Irrespective if I am voted or not prime minister after the election, an analysis is necessary. I am hailing this novelty in parliamentary politics. By the adoption of a political declaration, in the joint chambers, Parliament has changed from a reactive player to a pro-active one,” Johannis said.
He showed readiness to fill the position of prime minister also after the organization of the presidential election, in the conditions in which his nomination, until the election, by president Traian Basescu is unlikely.
Sibiu mayor Klaus Johannis said that he takes into account the possibility of talking with the political parties the support of a candidate to the presidency, in the 2nd round of the election.
“For the time being, I am supporting no candidate. It is worthy talking, after the first round, if I am supporting anybody,” said Johannis.
“The Chamber of Deputies and the Senate adopted, on Wednesday, in a common sitting, by 252 fors and two cons, a declaration in support of Klaus Johannis for the position of prime minister, a gesture presented by the initiators, namely the Liberal National Party, the Social-Democratic Party, the Conservative Party, the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania, and the group of the national minorities, the clear affirmation of a new parliamentary majority. President Traian Basescu should take into account of that for the nomination of a new prime minister.
