The Social-Democrat leader launched in this respect an appeal to the political parties and to the economic specialists, saying that a sketch of the budget for next year has to be drawn up “since now.”
“I want to assure everybody that we will be in the situation to have resources for pensions and salaries. We will try to have a draft budget for 2010 as soon as possible, because it is there that the key of the anti-crisis programme is, and if you want, the seed of the economic relaunch.
That is why I kindly asked the specialists in the party, high quality economists from out of the party included, I have also asked those from the National Liberal Party, PNL, from the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania, UDMR, from other parties, I also appeal to those out of the economic environment and the good specialists we have to work starting from now to a budget sketch for 2010,” said Geoana.
He mentioned that by the rapid drafting of the budget for 2010 more European funds can be drawn for agriculture and infrastructure, and, at the same time, the flat tax can be eliminated.
It is there that the key of subsidies for agriculture is, for next year, it is there that the key for the money from co-financing for European funds is, it is there that the key for more money is, for infrastructure programmes, boosting the economy and keeping the jobs, it is there that the key of the fiscal code is, because it is there that we possibly can eliminate what is to be eliminated, such as the minimum tax, the flat tax, how it is called, and to try to find formulas, for them on a definite term, for SMEs and for those who contracted credits with banks and who lost their jobs, and who are in a situation of good payers, but they are suffocated now, let us try and help them cross these difficult months,” the Social Democrat leader explained.
