The new Executive, that faces Parliament’s investiture vote, includes both technocrats such as diplomat Bogdan Aurescu, who has been named to head the Foreign Ministry and Florin Saghi for Minister of Administration and Interior, and members of the Democratic Liberal Party.
Furthermore, seven portfolios, or half the Government ministries, are to be held by incumbent ministers, of whom six Democratic Liberals and independent Catalin Predoiu.
Thus, Democratic Liberals Gheorghe Pogea, Radu Berceanu, Adriean Videanu, Vasile Blaga, Mihai Stanisoara, Theodor Paleologu and independent Predoiu will retain their portfolios, if the Government gets the legislature’s vote. Democratic Liberal Sulfina Barbu had also been an Environment Minister in the Calin Popescu-Tariceanu Cabinet.
