The 13 banks’ total bid was RON 1.728 billion, with the MFP rejecting the buy bids by commercial banks for the benchmark bonds with an ask yield higher than 10 percent.
A number of 13 primary dealers placed bids at the auction: Alpha Bank Romania, BRD – Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), Banca Comerciala Carpatica, Banca Transilvania, Bancpost, Citibank Romania, CEC Bank, ING, MKB Romexterra, Raiffeisen Bank, RBS Bank Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
MFP scheduled tenders in October for issue of T-bills and benchmark bonds worth RON 6 billion, after it raised RON 4.1 billion in September. The last tender this year will be held on October 26, for an issue of discount T-bills to carry an one-year maturity, worth RON 1 billion. MFP has attracted RON 55.4 billion from the market in 2009, compared with RON 12.5 billion in the entire year 2008.
