“We must regain our trust in institutions, state and system. If we fail to regain our trust in institutions, the democracy is in danger to bite the dust. We need a functional state, free of politics. The state and political leaders should respect Romanians. A society changes only when we all attempt to make it change”, said Sorin Oprescu.
Oprescu encouraged the Romanians to go to the polls, to express their political options in order to change things for the better.
“I make an appeal to all of you who think that politicians no longer have something to offer. These elections are yours. I am here to tell you there is still hope. Dec. 7 might mean a new beginning, a national revolution, a national project, in the national interest.
We all know the truth, the decline we are facing today is not generated by the international crisis, Romania’s decline is not just an economic crisis, it is a political and institutional one, a crisis of values”, stated Oprescu.
He declared in favor of a relation of trust between institutions and between institutions and citizens. Oprescu pointed out as well that Romania’s development is an absolute priority in his programme, so that the country can build “a decent position for itself in the world”, recognizes its people’s values and invests in them.
