“Tomorrow [Monday] the two standing bureaus will convene. Our opinion is very clear. Mr Johannis and the majority supporting him have all the moral, constitutional democratic and political right to go ahead with this nomination, but obviously we have to obey the rule of the game and tomorrow we shall convene the standing bureaus of Parliament and shall establish the hearing of the ministers,” said Geoana.
The President of the Senate assured that they would be extremely serious hearings, both for the ones that were “canvassed for” from various areas, but especially for the “old, important and irreplaceable leaders of PD-L [Democratic Liberal Party].”
“I am mainly looking at the piece of resistance included in the Basescu-Boc conjunction. It is clear that they are placed there in the key points, at the interior, the finance, at the transports, where money is and at influencing elections. There are the same characters, at least dubious ones, of PD -L,” said Geoana and added that Parliament had the democratic right to state its opinion of these people.
