According to E.ON Gaz Romania, the investment value in the gas storage is up to some 460 million lei, representing “a huge investment of our company in order to meet its clients requirements and expectations on securing the needed natural gas quantities for the house heating during the winter season”.
“In the winter season due to low temperatures the natural gas consumption is very high. This demand is bigger than the available volume from the current domestic or foreign gas production.
As such, we have to stock some quantities in advance, both from domestic and imported sources and store it into underground deposits. These quantities will be extracted from deposits in order to cover the consumption peak in winter, to secure the continuity of natural gas supply to consumers throughout the year, this being E.ON Gaz Romania priority”, underlines the press release.
