Antibiotice Iasi Co. (east) plans to boost its export activity by 50 percent in the coming two years, according to the statement made by Antibiotice director general Ioan Nani at the end of his participation in CPhI Worldwide, the main exhibition event of the world pharmaceutical industry, held in Madrid, between Oct. 13 and 15.

In order to consolidate its export activity in a period when business faces increasing difficulties nationwide, Antibiotice Iasi presented on this occasion to its foreign partners some new products, Financiarul daily reports (www.financiarul. com).

Participation in the most important event of the world pharmaceutical industry, CPhI World¬wide, has already become a tradition for Antibiotice international activity. Antibiotice delegation members had more than 120 business meetings, on the occasion of this fair, with traditional partners and with other companies interested in developing some long-term partnerships.

“We laid the basis of a new project on the valuing on the USA market of medicines under the form of capsules (two products). The sale of these products (approximately 60-70 million capsules/year) will represent a contribution of 6-8 million dollars/year to the turnover”, said Antibiotice Iasi director general.

At the same time the Romanian company officials met with partners from Africa, Russia and all the Community of Independent States member countries, bringing to completion projects estimated at some 3.5-4 million euros.

“We had talks with our traditional clients who reconfirmed next year contracts, which creates the premise to see Antibiotice grow its exports by 50 percent, starting with 2010-2011″, Nani also said. Likewise, Antibiotice Iasi established new contacts with partners from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
