‘We are serious people. When we are a majority we honour our commitments. We were a majority with the Democratic-Liberal Party (PD-L), but this majority collapsed on an order from Mr. Basescu; we are now part of a majority that supports Mr. Johannis for prime minister, and I say let us be serious this time as well,’ Geoana told TV R public television channel on Monday evening.
He added that there is no risk of some PSD MPs voting for the new Cabinet, arguing that ‘it is unnatural and undemocratic for a 35-percent minority to dictate to a 65-percent majority; it would be as if a minority stakeholder in a company would decide alone about the shares in that company.’
‘This is rather a public image show. The proposal is not serious. It is in fact a plan to have a Boc 3 Cabinet, since the core, the heavyweights are the PD-L ministers, the same infamous people – Blaga, Videanu and Pogea, who obviously have yet another mission to accomplish for Traian Basescu. The others are rather an ad-hoc army, so to say,’ Geoana added.
The PSD chief said that he would have no difficulty as regards Bogdan Aurescu, an independent recommended for the office of foreign minister, about whom he said will certainly be voted in. ‘This seems to me an honourable name. So, where we see an honourable name we will have no problem saying that is a good professional,’ said Geoana.
