If a citizen initially chooses to vote only for the president for instance, but then he changes his mind and returns to the polling station to vote in the referendum as well, he will not be allowed to do it. Therefore, a Romanian citizen who wants to cast his vote in both the presidential election and the referendum, must know he is allowed to enter the pooling booth only once, and make his decision in both electoral events, at the same time.
According to the Central Election Bureau, after checking the voter’s ID, the BEC president or one of the BEC members will ask the voter if he wants to cast his vote both for the president’s election and for the referendum.
A citizen who wants to vote in the referendum, will receive two ballot papers, corresponding to the two options he has to choose from.
In case a citizen chooses to take part in only one electoral event out of the two, he will have to mark his option by putting his signature on it before the BEC president, who, in his turn, will annul the other electoral event the citizen refuses to attend, by drawing a line over it.
The ballot papers with the two possible answers in the matter subjected to referendum will have different colors, namely, the ballot paper no. 1 will be black and the ballot paper no. 2 will be blue. The introduction of the ballot paper in another ballot box that the one corresponding to it, will not annul the vote, the Central Election Bureau decided.
