Traian Basescu takes part on Thursday and Friday, in Brussels, in the meeting of the heads of state and government from the European Union member states.
The main subjects on the meeting agenda are the debate on the institutional architecture of the Union and preparation of a common stand of the European Union for its participation in the United Nations International Conference on climatic changes in Copenhagen, Dec. 7-18, 2009.

The agenda also includes debates on the economic, financial and labor occupation situation in the European Union, the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea region, management of the illegal immigration and the situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan. President Basescu will also attend, in the first day of his visit to Brussels, in the meeting of the European People’s Party, focused on the preparation of the European Council.
