Asked whether Mihai Tanasescu, who is the incumbent representative of Romania to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), could be one of his next choices, the head of the state said: ‘I have never spoke to anyone about the possibility of designating a second Premier. It may be that the political parties are looking for one, instead. Tanasescu himself might be one of the proposals of the parties, in fact’ he said.
Mihai Tanasescu, a former Minister of Finance over 2000-2004, a few days ago told a TV broadcast that he had received several offers from people in the central administration, also suggesting that he would be among the proposals for PM.
