Following in the ranking there were the candidate of the Greater Romanian Party (PRM) Corneliu Vadim Tudor – 7 percent, independent Sorin Oprescu – 6 percent, the candidate of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) Kelemen Hunor – 3 percent and the candidate of the New-Generation Christian Democratic Party (PNG-CD) Gigi Becali – 2 percent.
According to the INSOMAR poll, Mircea Geoana would get by 6 percent more than Traian Basescu in the second round of the elections, that is 53 percent, while the incumbent President would get 47 percent.
By political parties, the INSOMAR poll showed the PSD+PC (Social Democratic Party plus the Conservative Party) Alliance would get 33 percent of the people’s votes, the Democratic Liberal Party would get 30 percent and the National Liberal Party 20 percent. PRM would get the same as UDMR – 7 percent. The poll was conducted over October 29 – November 1, ordered by Realitatea TV, on a sample of 1,207 people, with a margin error of +/I 3 percent.
