The issue was worth a total of RON 1.2 billion. The 13 banks’ total bid was RON 2.045 billion, with the MFP rejecting the buy bids by commercial banks for the benchmark bonds with an ask yield higher than 10 percent.
A number of 13 primary dealers placed bids at the auction: Alpha Bank Romania, BRD – Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), Banca Comerciala Carpatica, Banca Transilvania, Bancpost, Citibank Romania, CEC Bank, ING, MKB Romexterra, Raiffeisen Bank, RBS Bank Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
MFP scheduled tenders in November for issue of T-bills and benchmark bonds worth RON 6 billion, after it raised RON 2.53 billion in October. FP has attracted RON 58 billion from the market in January-October 2009, compared with RON 12.5 billion in the entire year 2008.
