PNL leaders suggested a series of meetings at the level of parliamentary groups, over Nov. 4- 12, aimed at a joint Parliament stand on the state budget adoption.
According to liberals, the draft budget must be conceived in line with the provisions and commitments assumed through the Stand-by agreement concluded with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
“The Parliament must assume a firm commitment on the observance of the macro-economic indicators, as provided by the agreement with IMF, and which should lay the basis of the future state budget law for 2010. (…) We suggest that the parliamentary groups meet for debates over Nov. 4-12, 2009 and to adopt a Parliament’s political declaration as regards Romania’s respect for its assumed pledges and of the macro-economic indicators as established through the agreement with IMF”, the quoted document says. PNL leaders propose that the parliamentary groups adopt the respective political declaration in a reunited plenary sitting of the two Chambers by Nov. 30.
