The Social Democratic Party + Conservative Party (PSD+PC) Alliance, the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the Democratic Union of Ethnic Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) will vote against the Government assembled by Prime Minister-designate Lucian Croitoru, while the national minorities representatives said they would not take part in the voting. They pointed out their support for a government lead by Sibiu Mayor Klaus Johannis.

Only the Democrat Liberals said they would vote for the investiture of the Croitoru Govt. ‘The PSD-PC Alliance MPs will vote against this mockery of democracy and free Romania of this regime the resembles too much the infamous regime of Ceuasescu,’ said Geoana. “PNL is definitely against this farce,” President of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Crin Antonescu, a candidate in the Nov. 22 presidential elections, said.

“UDMR MPs will vote against the Croitoru Govt. After today’s vote, the incumbent president still has a chance to end this political crisis, by appointing Klaus Iohannis PM,” the UDMR deputy Kelemen Hunor said. On the other hand, PDL senator Radu F. Alexandru urged the PSD, PNL and UDMR representatives to vote for the Croitoru Cabinet, after dismissing the ministers proposed during hearings in the expert commissions.
