Prime vice-president of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Ludovic Orban said on Wednesday, after Croitoru Government lost the confidence vote in Parliament, that this Cabinet was Traian Basescu’s “toy” and urged the President, on this occasion, to “stop playing”.
“The good news is that President Basescu’s toy – Croitoru Government – failed. The bad news is that the ousted Government, headed by Emil Boc, is still in office. We are convinced that the President-player’s game must come to an end. (…) The time has come for the President to put an end to this game because it is affecting Romania”, said Ludovic Orban.
He voiced conviction that the current head of state will designate the “person enjoying the parliamentary majority backing, namely Klaus Johannis, in order to solve in the shortest time possible Romania’s serious political crisis and the economic and social problems”. Ludovic Orban said PNL will support nobody else, but Klaus Johannis.
