The Social Democratic Party + Conservative Party (PSD+PC) Alliance will vote against the Government assembled by Prime Minister-designate Lucian Croitoru and resume its proposal for a government lead by Sibiu Mayor Klaus Johannis, PSD chief Mircea Geoana told a plenary session of Parliament on Wednesday.

‘The PSD-PC Alliance MPs will vote against this mockery of democracy and free Romania of this regime the resembles too much the infamous regime of Ceuasescu,’ said Geoana.
Geoana also said the regime of president Traian Basescu has to leave, because ‘the past five years were wasted on political scandals.’

‘I want to explain what we will do immediately after today’s vote in Parliament. We will require the incumbent President, after the obvious display of the lack of support for the candidates recommended by the Democratic-Liberal Party (PD-L), that we return to the normal democracy logic.

We will come back with the suggestion that Mr. Klaus Johannis be the next prime minister and I want to see what argument the incumbent President will come up with to deny the elementary democracy game that a 65-percent majority has all the right to propose a Cabinet. Responsibility is now decisively on the incumbent President’s shoulders,’ said Geoana.
