This is the document through which Romania gives the possibility to the United States forces to use the facilities agreed according top Law no 268/2006, sometimes presented by the media not like Romanian facilities put at the disposal of the US forces as it is stipulated in the Agreement, but as American military bases, reads the Romanian Ministry of National Defence.
Romania’s delegation was led by state secretary of the Department for Defence Policy and Planning, Viorel Oancea. The ways of implementation of the Access Agreement’s provisions, the instruction of American and Romanian troops in the extended manoeuvrering areas of Dobrudja, the experience gained following the joint exercises held this year, the validation of the joint training for 2010 and the US humanitarian assistance projects for the support of local communities were the issues approached at the meeting.
The members of the two delegations have examined the stage of works of the facilities designed for quartering the American troops in the Administrative Centre Mihail Kogalniceanu, which are to be officially inaugurated early in 2010.
