According to the Information and PR Center of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police (IGPR) the project was implemented in partnership with the National Administration of Penitentiaries, the Department of Probation with the Ministry of Justice and Civil Liberties, the Department of Correctional Services with the Ministry of Justice and the Norway Police, the Department for Public Health with the Norway Ministry of Health and Social Services and the Phoenix Organisation in Hague.
The beneficiary of this project, to be carried out for 24 months and to be financed via the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Space, was the National Anti-Drug Agency, with the total budget standing at 359,995 euros (305,995 euros from European funds and 54,000 euro co- financing).
The general objective of the projects is developing human resources to get involved in the reduction of the drug demand and in the creation of three therapeutic communities in the Rahova, Jilava and Targsor penitentiaries.
