Just 30 pct of Romanians could live on a month’s savings

Most Romanians could live less than a month on the money they saved, if they were to lose their jobs, reveals a recent survey conducted on recruitment Web site Myjob.ro.

According to the survey, the results of which are carried by the Financiarul daily (www.financiarul.com), 40 percent of the Romanians could live on their savings for less than a month if they lost their job now.

Another 29.35 percent of the respondents say their savings would last them just 30 days if they were to be laid off, while 15.87 percent of the polled said they could live on their savings for three months. A little over 7 percent said they could live on their savings for six months (7.45 pct) or even a year (7.24 pct). The survey was conducted nationwide online over Oct. 19 – Nov. 9 on 5,178 respondents.
