The two diplomats approached aspects connected with the latest evolutions in Bucharest and Chisinau relations. “I thanked Minister Leanca for the support given to Romania by supplementing the number of the polling stations with nine units, Romanian citizens having now the possibility to exercise their voting rights in Chisinau, Causeni, Nisporeni, Orhei, Balti, Soroca, Ungheni, Cahul, Anenii Noi and Giurgiulesti localities”, Eugen Tomac told.
Another topic of discussion was aimed at the opening of the Romanian consulates in Cahul and Balti, to become operational in a few days time. Otherwise, Iurie Leanca will accompany the Moldovan Premier Vlad Filat to the Central European Initiative Summit, organized Thursday and Friday in Bucharest.
Vlad Filat announced he will meet President Traian Basescu and voiced hope that within this visit the Convention between the two states on the small cross-border traffic might be signed, the opening of the two diplomatic missions being one of the conditions to this end.
On the occasion of his visit to Chisinau Eugen Tomac launched the programme “Romania Government offers you a book”, based on which 30,000 books were distributed to the Republic of Moldova schools. “The programme comes to the aid of educational institutions in the Republic of Moldova and addresses to all who love the book”, said the State secretary for the relations with Romanians everywhere.
On the occasion of his visit to Chis inau MAE official offered explanations on the voting possibilities the Romanian citizens in the Republic of Moldova have in the prospect of the presidential elections and of the referendum on November 22.
