As such, these travel documents cannot be issued at the polling stations located in some other place than a diplomatic mission or a consulate general or a honorary consulate of Romania. To this end, MAE recommends to Romanians in diaspora to apply in time for travel documents, allowing them to exercise their voting rights, with the consular sections of the embassies or Romania’s career consulates.
For the November 22 presidential elections MAE is to organize 294 polling stations all over the world, 100 more than at the latest elections, when 190 polling stations were opened for the Romanians abroad. As such, 55 polling stations are to be opened in Italy, 38 in Spain, 13 in the Republic of Moldova, 9 in France, 5 in Germany, 3 in Hungary, 3 in Russia, 8 in Great Britain, 4 in Belgium, 6 in Greece, 4 in Canada, 28 in the USA.
