‘This is a bureaucratic problem. We’ve discussed about this problem today with the foreign affairs minister, whom I expressly mandated in this respect to approach with the colleagues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the interpretation of the respective text, because at a first glance, it seems it is about the interpretation of a text and that this matter can be solved without further governmental or legislative intervention,’ said Boc.
PM Boc gave assurances that the Romanian side will resort to a legislative modification, if need be, to ensure on one hand, equal treatment and a decent quota on the other hand, as it has been so far as regards consular taxes for the students from the Republic of Moldova who study in Romania.
About 20 students, representatives of the Association of Young Bessarabians (ATB) Iasi on Thursday protested against the Romanian authorities’ decision to impose a consular tax worth 120 euros for the obtaining of the stay permit for studies.
