“This is an exceptional moment for the Romanian school. On behalf of my colleagues in the Government I congratulate the pupils, teaching staff and performing schools. You are among the most important Romania’s ambassadors in the world. These results are the product of the individual and group performance. The Romanian school still has a lot to do to elevate us to the European average”, said Emil Boc.
He voiced conviction that the new national education law, to be promulgated, is going to propel higher up “the entire force of the Romanian education”. “The award is not important as for the money, but it represents a recognition of your labor”, the Premier also said. Emil Boc encouraged the Olympic students to stay in Romania and to seek affirmation in this country.
Referring to the world economic crisis, Emil Boc said that the crisis peak has passed and starting next year the economy will be re-launched, Romania going to be “on the plus side, and not on minus”. The total value of the awards offered to the Olympics and to participants in international competitions is of 1.2 million lei.
