Romanian interim Prime Minister Emil Boc on Monday called an informal meeting, to be held at 4 p.m., of the ministers in his Cabinet, to prepare the necessary normative acts for the restructuring and reorganization of the government agencies.

More precisely, the meeting was called for the preparation of the government resolutions to be approved on Wednesday at the Executive’s meeting. Emil Boc last week stated that, by November 19, the government should issue the normative acts needed for the implementation of the law on restructuring of the government agencies, that is for the dissolution, merge or restructuring of 112 government agencies, with 9,000 jobs to disappear in the operation.

‘This means we are going to reduce to a half the number of government agencies which, most of them, represent a source for political cronyism. That’s why, this resolution represents the desideratum of reducing the oversized central budget apparatus and the bureaucracy,’ Emil Boc said.
