Loading ...Leader of the Ecologist Union of Romania Cornel Protopopescu described the decision on concluding this protocol as an important event and grounded the support given to Traian Basescu on the fact that in his electoral programme there were whole chapters on the environment recovery, questions that are the main aim of the party he has been running.
“Traian Basescu has delivered in the five years and before. I have known Traian Basescu since 1990, since the first legislative period, he was my colleague and I saw how energetic and resolved he was in what he wanted to achieve,” Cornel Protopopescu told a news conference.
When asked why the Ecologist Union became “interesting” for PD-L, Adriean Videanu said that he honestly admitted that every vote was important in this election campaign. “Every political group willing to support the PD-L candidate is welcome,” said Videanu.
Cornel Protopopescu was not able to specify the exact membership of his party, but added that, according to records, there might be about 37,000. “We have many enough, and even more can join us,” said the chairman of the Ecologist Union.
