Caretaker Premier Emil Boc made an appeal to Metrorex staff to put an end to their strike, under conditions in which the new the collective labor contracts can be concluded only after the State budget bill is approved.
As well, the Premier stressed that Metrorex is a monitored company according to Romania’s agreement with the International Monetary Fund and in this context no wage increases can be granted. Metrorex unionists launched on Tuesday a general strike on unlimited time, between 04:00 and 16:00 hours, as a consequence of the Metrorex administration refusal to operate wage raises.
