President Traian Basescu announced on Tuesday he will take part in the debate organized on Wednesday, at the Academy for Economic Studies (ASE).
The President added that on Monday afternoon and on Tuesday the campaign teams have met in order to establish the conditions for this debate.

He underlined the importance of this debate, adding that it will be an occasion to make known each candidate’s vision. Basescu remarked that he likes this idea a lot, namely to have a debate in front of ASE students because they understand well the economic reality.
“The place and conditions are not my job because they do not depend on me. (…) I do not assume this negotiation because it is not up to me, a candidate does not get involved in these arrangements and the more so Romania’s President. The campaign staff will decide what to do”, stressed Basescu at the meeting with the press, at his campaign headquarters.
