Romania’s Constitutional Court (CCR) has rejected on Wednesday as baseless the Senate’s Chairman Mircea Geoana notifications, who contested the decrees signed by President Traian Basescu through which the interim ministers of the Democrat Liberal Party (PD-L) are appointed in positions vacated by the Social Democratic Party (PSD) ministers who had tendered their resignations.
Mircea Geoana forwarded two notifications to the Constitutional Court, drawing attention upon a constitutional conflict between Parliament and Presidency, reasoning that the interim democrat liberal ministers have been appointed without prior consultations with the members of Parliament.
