Loading ...The United States of America have no preferred candidate in the race for Romania’s Presidency, U.S. Ambassador in Bucharest Mark Gitenstein said on Wednesday, in response to recent press allegations.
The U.S. Government does not support any particular candidate for the President of Romania and no U.S. Government agency conducts any actions to influence the presidential race, said the American Ambassador in Bucharest. His Excellency called on mass media to act responsibly and ensure an unbiased coverage of the facts. Gitenstein also appealed to the citizens of Romania to scrutinize all candidates and to vote in the know on election day.
The extra-parliamentary Greater Romania Party (PRM) on Tuesday in a letter called on Ambassador Gitenstein to request the Romanian state authorities to organize free and fair elections and to block any rigging attempt.
