A debate between candidates Traian Basescu and Crin Antonescu will take place on Friday, the social democrat candidate Mircea Geoana having been invited as well, announced on Wednesday evening Sebastian Lazaroiu, member of the campaign staff of Traian Basescu.
He stressed that the two candidates’ teams convened upon a three candidates’ debate. Lazaroiu also noted the time has to be established yet, but most likely the place will be the Parliament Palace.
Lazaroiu added that Mircea Geoana is also expected to attend this debate, and he is going to decide to accept, or not, this invitation. Referring to the reason for organizing this debate, Lazaroiu pointed out that Traian Basescu and Crin Antonescu campaign staff wished the organization of a debate with the participation of the top three candidates according to the opinion polls.
