Loading ...Geoana told Antonescu that he does not want to reply to any electioneering attack, but Antonescu was quick to tell Geoana that he lies when making promises to the voters. ‘Stop telling me that I belong to the same world as Traian Basescu,’ Antonescu urged Geoana, to which the PSD candidate replied, ‘I wont’ because you went in politics at the same time with Traian Basescu, while I only entered politics in 2001.’
Geoana said he does not want to quarrel with the PNL chief because he wants to protect the relations with PNL, which he would like to use to mount a parliamentary majority after the presidential election. ‘There is life after November 22,’ said Geoana. And yet, much of the conversation caught fire on issues, particularly future projects.
Geoana said the debate on Antena 3 is useless to the citizens’ concerns, and so was, he argued, the debate between Antonescu and Basescu in Cluj-Napoca last week. ‘At least I was expecting from you a certain kind of political attitude,’ said Geoana, adding that, nevertheless, Antonescu is a polite man. The conversation also focused on the role of the political parties while at rule. ‘The time has come to join our forces,’ said Geoana, to which Antonescu asked ‘Who?’
