Geoana stressed he is not interested in who the organiser is, but he only wants the televisions to broadcast the debate live, so that all the Romanians may watch the discussions.
‘I’m not interested in who organises it. I’m going to take part in a debate in a neutral venue, the televisions should have access’, he stressed in the southern Mioveni town.
Spokesman for the Alliance’s presidential campaign Victor Ponta confirmed that the Social Democratic leader will attend the debate organised by the Institute of Public Policies.
The campaign teams of incumbent President Traian Basescu and Liberal president Crin Antonescu agreed on Thursday that the two presidential hopefuls take part in an electoral debate staged at the Parliament Palace on Friday, to be organised by the Institute of Public Policies and moderated by journalist Robert Turcescu, with Geoana to also join the show.
Sebastian Lazaroiu, a member of Basescu’s campaign staff, explained the debate is to be held among the top three presidential candidates, as rated by the surveys, namely Basescu, Geoana and Antonescu.
