Geoana appreciated the activity carried out by this company as well as the interest its managers took in resisting the economic crisis in Romania and said he looked with much interest at the future Logan models that come out on the market, especially the Dacia Logan pick-up but also the Dacia Duster.
Geoana promised that, if he came to be Romania’s President, he would extend the Jalopy Programme in 2010 to legal persons and would tackle things in such a way that, besides a stable and predictable Government, Romania should have a plan of economic recovery so that the Romanians’ purchasing power should grow.
The PSD chairman thinks it absolutely necessary to make investments in infrastructure too, without which new investments like the Renault ones in Romania are not possible. He visited in detail the assembly halls and stopped both to study the models being made and to talk with the employees of this company.
“I am glad to be back here, at the Dacia-Renault Plant, this excellent example for the Romanian industry that increased the number of jobs to 140,000 in this country. Unfortunately, the absence of an anti-crisis programme made the domestic market fall and motorcar sales go down by 7 percent in 2009,” said Mircea Geoana, who appreciated the spectacular relaunch of the Romanian- French company.
Before visiting the Dacia Plant, Mircea Geoana attended a rally at Mioveni. The candidate of the PSD+PC Alliance spoke to the citizens at Mioveni about the main items of his economic programme but also about the launch of an anti-crisis programme that should be the result of setting up the stable government he wanted to have after the presidential election.
