The Prime Minister mentioned that the third and fourth tranche of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) might come in March. The IMF representative in Romania and Bulgaria Tonny Lybek on Thursday told a conference organized by the European Commission’s Representation that Romania can receive tranches three and four in an aggregate amount, if this is requested and political uncertainty lingers.
Lybek explained that the next evaluation of the agreement with Romania was scheduled for the end of January – early February 2010 and the fourth tranche should have been released in March 2010, but that the Fund could unlock both tranches in March.
