Inter-balkan art exhibition at Cotroceni presidential palace

An Inter-Balkan art exhibition gathering art works made by eight artists of Romania, Greece, Albania, Serbia and Bulgaria has opened at National Cotroceni Museum of Bucharest.

Organized by Melenia Art Gallery, National Cotroceni Museum and Alpha Bank Romania, the exhibition gathers paintings, sculptures, graphic arts, signed by Maia Oprea, Laurentiu Midvichi, Simona Antoniu, Harris Kondosphyris, Nansy Fotopoulou, Shefket Advush Emini, Jovana Komnenic and Snejana Semeonova.

‘By the participation in this event artists have the opportunity to cooperate and share cultural visions and similarities, providing an adequate framework for the exchange of opinions, of sources of inspiration and approach the latest tendencies of the contemporary art,’ said Eleni Skiadoupoulou, manager of Melenia Art Gallery. According to Skiadoupoulou,the works of the participating artists express the Balkans’ realities and support the identity of the places, by showing joint roots and diversity of the regions. The exhibition will stay open by January 15, 2010.
