The Medal of Honor is Netzer’s second feature film after his multiple-prize winner Maria (2003); it is a black comedy about a pensioner from 1990s Romania played Rebengiuc, who, one day, receives a distinction for his bravery during World War II.
The film is a Scharf Advertising, Pandora Film and Abis Studio a co-production achieved with the support of CNC Romania, Arte/ZDF, Eurimages, TVR, BV Mc Cann Erickson Romania, Odyssey Communication, Teleclub, with the participation by HBO Romania.
