Romania’s balloting ends as polling stations on U.S. western coast close

Romania’s vote for president and a referendum ended at 7 a.m. on Monday (local time), when the polling stations on the United States’ western coast closed.

Thus, due to a time zone lagging behind 10 hours, the polling stations in Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Orange County and Portland opened on Sunday at 5 p.m. (Romanian time) and closed at 7 a.m. on Monday. The voting in 294 polling stations set up for the Romanians all over the world was conducted over 35 hours, as it started in Auckland, Australia at 8 p.m. on Saturday and ended on the U.S. western coast on Monday.
