‘As early as this morning, a full-functioning propaganda machinery, obviously operating under the authority of PSD, started a full-throat attempt to compromise the election process by obsessively claiming that the election is rigged. In fact, the complaints filed with the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) so far against vote fraud do not exceed the usual number of such complaints in any other of the past ballots,’ said Voinescu.
He added that the best means of stopping the diversion of vote rigging would be a high voter turnout. ‘This year’s presidential election has a huge stake. The referendum has also a major import. We are glad to see that the entire society feels the same way. Anyway, they cannot lie as much as Romanians can vote,’ he said.
‘In our opinion, certain irregularities notified so far by all parties, the Democratic-Liberal Party (PD-L) included, in the ongoing election do not suggest that the vote is rigged. All the more so, as Romanians are showing up to vote in large droves, to our delight,’ said Voinescu.
