Antonescu urged those who played foul in the Romanians’ vote by rigged polls to step back from public life and encouraged PNL representatives in the polling stations, telling them not to get demoralized by the ‘distorted’ polls and keep on counting the votes.
The PNL leader termed the exit polls made public along the day by the pollsters as a ‘huge manipulation’ adding that the same institutions had lied throughout the election campaign.
‘No matter who wins this competition, we fought a fair battle, I fought with voters on my side who voluntarily turned out, not with people who came by coach, minibus; I had on my side people who came because they felt that Romania’s fate after 20 years is also in their hands,’ said the Liberal leader. At the same time, Antonescu voiced his delight with the large number of Romanians who expressed their political option by vote, and thanked them, especially the youth.
